Experience shared with the poultry community.
Rip Stalvey has spent a lifetime learning from poultry and helping other people become better poultry keepers. His experience began when he was three years old. By age nine he was raising standard-bred poultry, and at eleven he entered his first poultry show. That childhood interest grew into more than seven decades around poultry.
Over the years, Rip has served the poultry community in many roles. He is a retired American Poultry Association-licensed poultry judge and has served as president of two poultry breed clubs. His emphasis as an educator is helping people understand what they are seeing, evaluate the information available to them and make better decisions for themselves and their birds.
That philosophy led to Poultry Keepers 360, an educational community built around observation, understanding and sound decision-making. Rip's work connects breeding, management, nutrition, research, practical experience and mentorship rather than simply handing people a list of answers.
After more than seventy years around poultry, Rip still describes himself as a student. His larger goal is to help poultry keepers develop enough confidence and judgment to work through problems independently and eventually pass that knowledge along to someone else.
