Experience shared with the poultry community.
Steve Androes began with poultry at a young age in a family where each of six children was allowed to work with a few breeds. His siblings eventually moved on from the hobby, but Steve stayed with it.
His White Leghorn journey began at age fourteen with Single Comb White Bantam Leghorns given to him by Homer Wyssman. In the mid-1980s he added chicks from Henry Alf and Lee Marsh. Years of patient selection moved his birds from simply making the class to producing birds capable of competing for major awards.
Steve also takes pride in the next generation. His grandson developed an interest in poultry and has won Grand Champion several times. Steve's Education Series profile emphasizes White Leghorn breeding and selection, developing show quality, conditioning mature males and sharing knowledge with young exhibitors.
